It’s a men-from-the-boys type of thing, an engagement session.
I get it, I really do, not every guy out there is jumping up from the game, tossing aside his controller, turning away another beer, (insert another male stereotype here), to run out and have their picture taken for an engagement session.
Why then, do we do it? Why do we willingly steer ourselves into unfamiliar territory, opening ourselves up, making ourselves vulnerable, for something like this?
Because we’re men, that’s why.
Men understand that engagement pictures may not be super important to them, but it’s important to someone they love. Boys do not understand this.
Men give thought to what they wear, showing up ready and willing. Boys roll their eyes and force a smile.
Men go with the flow, boys whine.
Men are right there, in the moment, with their girl. Boys are worried about what their drinking buddies might think if they saw them.
In short, Men put the wants of their women ahead of their own. Boys do not.
In this respect, Jeff is most decidedly a Man. He drove Christine all the way down from Ocala, ready and willing for anything, as long as it made her happy. And boy, was she. They both glowed in the hour I spent with them, their chemistry was palpable. I simply cannot wait for their St Pete Nova 535 wedding next year!
