Everybody has such a different way of looking out their eyes and moving their hands. It's those little trademarks that help make who you are. Just stop for awhile and you'll see them everywhere. Capture them in a frame and you will have an image that means something; it has weight.

I joke with my friends that being a photographer is twenty percent knowing how to use a camera and light, and eighty percent knowing how people work. If I can create a space when I'm working that's warm and invites my people to let down their guard and just be, the photos will start flowing and splashing everywhere.

Making a good portrait means so much to me because time is too fleeting. I'm always very conscious of the fact that I'm making something that will last a very long time, it will be handed down kids and grandkids, and so on. I feel that weight, but it feels good.

a good portrait says a lot about the person captured.

it also says a lot about the person behind the camera.
opportunity is everywhere. a great photo is right here, right now.
you just have to find it
